DPD Couriers

Founded in 1977 in the German district of Aschaffenburg, DPD Couriers are today one of the most successful European courier companies around. Originally known as Deutscher Paket Dienst, the company served the local German regions and gradually spread out into other parts of Europe. By the year 2000, when the company was taken over by LaPoste, they had changed their name to Dynamic Parcel Delivery, or simply DPD.

    Same Day Delivery

If you have a parcel, pallet or document you need to ship in a hurry within the UK, get an instant quote right here for a TNT Same Day collection and delivery.

This is a documents service for papers only. Your documents must weigh 1.5kg or less when packaged and be 40cm x 30cm x 5cm or smaller in size.

Package your documents in a cardboard envelope, not paper, so they can withstand transportation within a large courier network (?). Measure the dimensions for your envelope in the same way as you would measure a parcel, using 1cm for anything less than 1cm in size.

    Two-Man Service

The two-man service is not suitable for one-off bookings, but is a flexible and affordable service for any business regularly shipping bulky items that can't be shipped via a pallet service. Two Yodel XL couriers arrive to lift your items in to the van safely and securely, and upon delivery can assist with installation or other specialist requirements. Tailor-made to suit your needs it is suitable for delivery of white goods, brown goods, beds and mattresses, flat pack or rigid furniture, garden furniture, gym equipment and more.

    DPD Couriers Companies

DPD are well known within the courier industry as a promoter and user of cutting edge technology and have been at the forefront of some of the most groundbreaking technical wizardry through the years. As an example, DPD couriers were the first company to use barcodes as a means of scanning and sorting parcels more efficiently, a piece of technology that is not only used by almost all the courier companies worldwide, but also by many other industries as an efficient way of tracking and checking items. They were also the first courier company to use hand held devices for capturing signatures, back in 1998. As any parcel recipient will know, the majority of UK courier companies as well as the Post Office now use these themselves.

    DPD Couriers European

In the UK, DPD Couriers began operations working under the name of Courier Express. This company changed its name to Parceline in the mid 80s and were a familiar sight on our roads at that time. They finally became DPD in 2000 when LaPoste demanded a rebranding of all the subsidiaries when they took over the network.
