How do I label my parcel?

There are two types of label:

Address label

For every parcel you book through P4D, we produce an address label for you.

It's important to know that every parcel needs a label that is what we call human-readable, which means a label that is hand written or printed out with the delivery address on it. You always need a human-readable label, even if the courier company you choose adds another label of their own as that is usually only readable with a scanner.

We recommend you print your labels on sticky address labels in A5 portrait, but if you're sending occasional parcels this won't be worth your while, so either hand-write the address on your box in marker pen or print out the address label we provide and put it in a clear, sticky backed envelope, which you can buy from stationery stores.  We don't recommend you use sticky tape to attach a piece of paper with the address on to your parcel as these often become detached in transit.

Shipping labels

There are some courier services that require shipping labels. When you book, we'll send you an email confirmation and let you know what to print and how many.

At the time of writing, the DHL International service and all services provided by Fedex require shipping labels.

The label is not always produced immediately, but as soon as the courier company provides it we will email a link to you and a PDF.

Shipping labels should be printed and attached to your parcels in the same way as address labels. If you book the parcel delivery you will be sent the labels, so you will need to forward these on to the sender.
