City Link has offered a same day collection service and this has been very popular. Unfortunately, the service has been so popular that the City Link network has struggled to cope with the demand. The result has been a deterioration in the standard of service. City Link has decided that same day collections will cease nationwide, with immediate effect.

The good news is that you can still book a City Link collection, but you need to do this before 11pm the evening before.

We know this might disappoint some, but overall, we see this as a positive step to improve the service levels.

We have some exciting news about the City Link service we offer.

We took your feedback, summoned the P4D genie, and now offer to you the following four NEW features:

• Same Day Collections: Book before 11.30am for a Same Day collection with delivery the next day for only £6.99.


• Multiple Collection Discounts: The more parcels you send with City Link, the more you now save! Prices range from £6.90 for two parcels to £6.50 for more than six. Visit our multiple discount page for more.


• Heavier Parcels Allowed: The restriction on parcel weight for this service was originally set at 15kg, but now you can send parcels up to 20kg for the same fantastic price.


• Save on Consignments: If you're sending a batch of parcels directly from one address to another, there are now big savings to be made.

We hope you continue to reap the benefits of our new City Link service and take full advantage of the new offers.

The time has come for P4D to move to a new office as we've outgrown our current premises.

All the details are below, but first I quickly wanted to thank you all as P4D customers have really gotten on board with our Green campaign and Round up your Pound scheme. So far you've given back more than £100 to the environment by carbon offsetting your orders, which will go directly to OxTreeGen who plant trees on our behalf. For the Teenage Cancer Trust, P4D customers have already donated nearly £400 in small change since we launched the initiative at our checkout. You can see a picture of one of the Trust's day care centres, The Oasis, on our Facebook page and there'll be more about our worthwhile causes online in the near future, but in the mean time, we thank you for your support.

• New address and fax number:We now have a new address, so please update your records: P4D, Charter House, 25 High Street, Banbury OX16 5EG. Our fax number has changed to 01295 228409. Our telephone numbers will stay the same: 0845 680 4824 for landlines (cost of a local call in the UK) or 01295 267200 for mobiles (where 0845 isn't included in your minutes).


• Win a BluRay player + film: To celebrate the move, we're donating a film night and we'd like to give all our customers the opportunity to win a film of their choice and a BluRay player to match. • Cheaper international rates: You may have already noticed that our rates on European and international parcel delivery have gone down. We regularly re-assess our price structure and where we can offer you a better deal, we deliver. So, sending parcels overseas just got cheaper!

City Link have invested heavily in their network to ensure it runs smoothly. They are continuously making use of new technology to provide more services and offer an enhanced level of customer support, which mirrors the P4D approach. Drivers are also employed directly by City Link to build on this investment at customer level.

I've recently joined the P4D team as Online Manager and I'll be keeping you up to date with news as well as providing you with new ways to interact with P4D, through our new Facebook Page and our Twitter feed.

Before I tell you the good news, I wanted to make a comment about the recent problems with DHL. Some of you may have noticed a higher than normal level of failed collections and some delays with parcels being delivered. Last year Yodel bought DHL UK and as part of this integration they have been making changes to their IT systems and consolidating depots. The past few weeks have been a painful process for them and not everything went smoothly. Due to the large number of parcels booked via P4D we can easily spot an increase in problems and report these to DHL. We are happy to report now that things appear to be back to normal.

So, what good news do we have?

• Same Day for Europe: You'll know that DHL Domestic put a stop on same day collections for shipments to Europe, but now DHL International are reintroducing the service. You can now book same day collections - up to 1pm, for all DHL Euro shipments. Book now.


• Cheaper Next Day: Next day delivery with DHL used to cost you more than a tenner before VAT, but it's now fixed at £9.99, so it's good news all round!


• Palletways Promotion: Over the coming months you can also temporarily send pallets at a reduced rate, making a saving on average of £3 per pallet.


• Large Carbon Footprint? If you're sending a lot of parcels your carbon footprint will make a real imprint, considering the amount of fuel used to deliver them. P4D contributes to this as part of the courier services industry, so we've introduced a new initiative that allows you to offset your usage. How? It's easy and you don't have to do a thing - let us explain.

You may have noticed another new initiative of ours this month when arriving at the P4D checkout. We're now donating your loose change to charity with our Round up your Pound option. Our first chosen charity is the Teenage Cancer Trust who do amazing work helping young adults cope with cancer.
