P4D Goes Green: OXCRI
P4D became a member of OXCRI (OxTreeGen Carbon Reduction Initiative) on 10 May 2011 and we've taken on many of the suggestions given to reduce our business carbon footprint:
We made carbon offsetting a boardroom issue
The result of our ideas produced the Going Green campaign, allowing customers to carbon offset on every parcel delivery booking with P4D. We update our fundraising totals every month and work out how many trees we can plant with this money. We continue to tot up our overall tree totals since the initiative started in May 2011.
We turned off the lights
We recently moved to bigger premises and we've automatic light sensors, so there's no more forgetting to turn the light off. Due to a minor planning error on our part, it also means Colin is plunged in to darkness several times a day, but he's getting used to it!
We switched to recycled paper
After our move, we needed some new stationery. We made sure the paper we used for both our headed paper and business cards was FSA Approved.
We walk and car share
Most of our employees live locally and already walk to work. Those who live in the same area now car pool - as do all the P4D ladies when they go to Zumba!
We plant trees
We donate the money you raise on carbon offsetting your shipments to OxTreeGen who plant trees to help the planet breathe.
