    Same Day Delivery

If you have a parcel, pallet or document you need to ship in a hurry within the UK, get an instant quote right here for a TNT Same Day collection and delivery.

This is a documents service for papers only. Your documents must weigh 1.5kg or less when packaged and be 40cm x 30cm x 5cm or smaller in size.

Package your documents in a cardboard envelope, not paper, so they can withstand transportation within a large courier network (?). Measure the dimensions for your envelope in the same way as you would measure a parcel, using 1cm for anything less than 1cm in size.

    Two-Man Service

The two-man service is not suitable for one-off bookings, but is a flexible and affordable service for any business regularly shipping bulky items that can't be shipped via a pallet service. Two Yodel XL couriers arrive to lift your items in to the van safely and securely, and upon delivery can assist with installation or other specialist requirements. Services offered by the post offices are varied and include the weighing of mail, advising of the best rates for sending mail and the sale of postage stamps. Items most commonly handled are letters, packages and parcels. Together with this function, post offices can deal with all manner of other services, offering a bureau de change, the foreign currency exchange service, handing out of forms for passports and driving licences and issuing car tax discs. They also offer a range of financial products from credit cards and savings to insurance and mortgages. More recently, the Post Office has branched out to now offer home telephone and broadband packages.

    Post Office International Delivery

Historically, post offices in the United Kingdom were integrated with the Royal Mail and even incorporated the telecommunications sector under the name of the General Post Office. As a government run service, privatisation meant that each service was disbanded over a period of time. It was in 2001 that post offices were transferred to Consignia plc of which the government is the only shareholder. This was rebranded as Royal Mail Holdings with the Post Office becoming a subsidiary of this business.

    Post Office Worldwide Services

Post offices used to be housed in self contained buildings where they also sold a range of packaging solutions, stationery and greetings cards. While branches like these still exist, many community based post offices are now incorporated into newsagents, supermarkets and shop and can also be found in some hospitals and railway stations.
