Against Breast Cancer

Against Breast Cancer is a research based national charity founded in 1993.  They have their own research unit at the University Of Westminster, London, dedicated to improving detection and increasing survival rates of breast cancer. They receive no Government funding and need to raise £1.1 million each year in order to continue this ground breaking and lifesaving research.

Their research is unique. They focus on ‘secondary spread’, the main problem with breast cancer – their scientists are researching why cancer cells travel to other parts of the body and how this can be prevented. This is an incredibly exciting time as their research has identified complex sugars produced by the body to coat breast cancer cells, which are associated with ability to travel. Money raised from your kind donation will help them continue making progress toward developing a blood test to screen for these destructive cells and eventually a vaccine against breast cancer.
