What’s the difference between FTL and LTL?

Full Truckload (FTL) delivery services are when you use more than half of a truck or lorry. In industry terms, you are effectively booking the entirety of the vehicle for your freight delivery, which makes it cost-effective for large deliveries from one supplier to one, or multiple, destinations.

Less than truckload (LTL) is quite the opposite. With LTL deliveries, you are booking a portion of the delivery vehicle along with other businesses. This is generally considered the cheaper option if you’re not sending a large quantity of goods. It is considered a slightly slower option as your goods are not always prioritised; they will be delivered in sequence with other consignments.
